John, Floyd, and anyone else interested,
Learning anything about people so remote in time and space seems daunting to
me, but I am curious.
I know almost nothing about the English Chandlers, but will refer to the
most recent information I have. This is an article by Douglas Richardson,
published in _The American Genealogist_, vol 73, no. 1, which was Jan.,
1998.
Richardson has Joan Page, daughter of John and Katherine Page, as wife of
Thomas III (the one born ca. 1528). He is working with the will of John
Page. I won't try to give a summary--it would be best to consult the
article.
He also gives no surname for Anne/Agnes, the wife of Henry (Henry b. 1595),
but says she married second John Miller. Floyd, you seem to have her as Anne
Miller--any ideas about the discrepancy? Richardson is fairly detailed on
this, and his principal source appears to be Spencer Miller,_Joseph Miller
of Newton, Massachusetts_New York, 1942.
Richardson is working with the Moriarty article (G. Andrews Moriarty,
"Genealogical Research in England: Ancestry of William Chandler of Roxbury,
Mass." _The New England Historical and Genealogical Register_85
(1931):133-45) which you are using, Floyd, as well as several other sources.
I'd welcome any comments on the article, and would be happy to hear if there
is any more recent information.
