I'm trying to identify the Richard Chandler that appears in the 1800 census
of Buncombe County, NC, age between 16-26. He was the only Chandler in the
County at that time.
Richard appeared again in the 1810 Census of Buncombe Co, NC, age 26-45
(still), one other Chandler, John age 45 and older. There were the only two
Chandler's in the county. Another John Chandler is recorded in Burke County
age 26-45. (Probably North Cove, near Linnville).
By 1820 Richard and John are no longer shown, but two female heads of
household for Buncombe County are shown, Diana age 26-45 (near Joseph and
Ezekiel) and Sarah age 26-45 (8 pages away in census).
Buncombe County created in the 1790s. Before that, the region was Burke
County, NC.
