I also was wondering, if you have to use the DNA services listed or if you
can find a private company, have the DNA testing, then submit it (if you
want to) or compare it to DNA that has already been tested?
For the record, I am trying to convince my husband to have his DNA checked.
Somehow, I just feel if you have the DNA testing it will answer a lot of
your questions and get you past that brick wall.
Barb,
I am almost convinced that this may be a way to gather more search
information and I am at such a brick wall that this may be a last resort for me.
As I understand, you can have the DNA test done at any facility and
submit your report to a DNA surname website. I am looking into the Chandler DNA
website at; ECFA:
_http://edmundchandler.com/lineage.html_
(
http://edmundchandler.com/lineage.html) which you suggested. There appears to be a
couple
of names that tie into an Elbridge Chandler from Spokane that I have a hunch
is a distant relative. I have requested more DNA information from Joe Chandler
from the site. Hopefully I will take the test and if something comes of it,
I will be singing high praises to the list.
