To answer your question "Whatever happened to Joseph Whitney Chandler?" we
might find a clue in George Chandler's book. He indicates that Joseph and
his wife, Adaline Goodnow, made their home in Akron [Erie County], NY.

Whatever happened to Joseph Whitney Chandler (b. 1815),
son of Rev. Amariah Chandler and Abigail Whitney?
I know he was born in 1815 in Shelburn Falls, MA (or Waitsfield, VT
depending on which book you believe) and married Adeline Goodnow in 1838
in
Shelburn Falls.
They had at least four children:
Amariah 1839 Shelburn Falls, MA
Gilbert E.W. 1847 Shelburn Falls,
Anne
Frank Herbert 1861 Swift's Mills, NY.
Any other children? (they seem spaced awfully far apart).
Death Date?
