Hello everyone,
I am searching for the ancestry of William Chandler, who was in Newbury,
Mass. before 1648. He married Mary Fowler, daughter of Philip Fowler.
Wondering if there is any connection between this William Chandler and
William Chandler who married Annis Bayford, father of William Chandler who
married Mary Dane.
George Chandler's genealogy of the family of William and Annis does not have
this William. None of your William's three wives, Mary Fowler, Mary Lord and
Mary Carter is in the index (at least not any of these women--there are others
by these names).
This Fowler genealogy has several pages on William and Mary Fowler Chandler
with many references to other relationships of William to other people, but no
indication of his parents.

William appears in the probate records of Newbury as a witness or inventory
taker, and there are other records showing he was apparently responsible and
respected, but I have not found anything to tell where he came from.
