All,
Tewkesbury, England is in Gloucestershire - not a million miles from my
first known CHANDLER - Thomas CHANDLER, born 1809 in Staunton-on-Arrrow,
Herefordshire.
Anyone else researching in that area??
Regards

Subject: [CHANDLER] Chandlers of Tewkesbury
Dear Jill,

Do you mean Tewkesbury, as in England, or Tewksbury as in Masachusetts? I
do not know about any Chandlers in Tewkesbury, England, I am researching
(not actively at moment) Chandlers of Tewksbury and Andover (next town),
MA. I grew up (1940s) on what was know as the old Chandler land at the
corner of Main and Chandler Streets in Tewksbury. A couple of years
ago,
my sister and I found what we believe to be a direct link to the
Chandler's
of Andover and that would make us nieces and/or cousins (x removed)
from
the Chandlers of Tewksbury. I believe that at one point there were
multiple Chandler families on Chandler Street. I believe that there are
Chandlers (probably the Andover ones) buried in a cemetery in Andover, but
I have not had the opportunity to check it out).
