Bare with me on this.
Chandler began as Chaundeler, until 1700-1800's. Found a Taylor and Chandler
married.
Chandler's I have found thus far are:
Joseph
Edmond m Alden, children Samuel, Sarah, Ann, Ruth, Lydia m Higgins.
Moses m Marble
Cynitha
Asa m Simmons
Abigainl m Delano
Asa m Delano
Edmund m Buck
Now I know Taylor is related to me down through Snowden, Anchors, Akins, etc, Dorsey, etc,
Smith, Woolley, and more.
I am trying to see where the Woolley name picked up the Chandler name along the family
lines. My gg-grandfather's name is Thomas Chandler Woolley b early 1800's married
Rhoda Dorsey. I know the Dorsey connects, down from Charles and Elizabeth
Anchors/Akins/etc, Dorsey.
Lines of Elizabeth Anchors, Akins, Akens, Ankers, is Snowden and Taylor. See back to
Taylor and there was a marriage of a Chandler by one of them. Ok, then I should be able
to connect the Chandler name to my Dorsey line. But if Dorsey married my Woolley, where
did he get the Chandler middle name in the same generation before he married her?
There is another Wooley, Woolley connected to the Dorsey line, the brother of my
ggg-grandfather Dorsey married her. I can't find a connection to the 2 Woolley lines
here. The maiden name of that Wooley had a Howland for a mother.
I have 5 Wooley, Woolley lines and they must connect somewhere. My gg-grandfather Woolley
is not the only one in my line with the Chandler middle name, but the brother of my
Grandfather Wooley, Woolley has Chandler for a middle name too.
My Thomas Chandler Woolley suddenly appeared in Ohio 1844 and married Rhoda Dorsey,
daughter of Silas and Mary Smith, Dorsey.
Can anyone help me with this puzzle? Maybe I would be able to find the location of birth
of my gg-grandfather and names of his parents too. I have descendants of his, just no
ancestors. Other leads have turned out to be a Thomas R Woolley and he is not mine,
totally different.
I know this is pretty scattered, but hope someone out there has a hint of some kind for
me.
I also have Timothy Akins (other AKA's)b c. 1729/30, son of Thomas Akins b 1702 m
Allen (daugher of Allen and Hill); and Thomas was the son of John Akin and Mary Briggs.
John also had a spouse of Sherman.
Timothy Akins married Elizabeth Woolley, but I can't find anymore information for her.
Remember Akins is Ankers, Akens, and Anchor too. I can connect Anchors to Dorsey and
Taylor.
Please refer to this message link or I may not remember all of this straight.
Any help would be appreciated.
