Hello All,
I am seeking the ancestors of Willis C. White. He was born in
Kentucky about 1790. Around 1813 he married Eliza Daniel, who
was born in Tennessee, in 1799. All of their children, except
the youngest were born in Alabama, and he was born in Mississippi.
Willis owned property in Greene and Sumter counties of Alabama
and in Kemper County, Mississippi. He died between 1840 and 1844.
Willis and Eliza had three sons, John W. White, Willis D. White and
Samuel White. I mention these names, because I think they may have
been repeated in each generation. John W. White named his oldest son
Willis Chandler White. I think that was the middle name of Willis
I, also.
So basically, I am looking for the ancestors Willis C. White born in
Kentucky about 1790, whose father was possibly John W. White, who may
have had a brother Samuel, and whose family was probably connected to
Chandlers.
There was a Samuel White whose will was probated in Noxubee County,
Mississippi in July 1839. His only heir was John W. White. Mathew
Jackson of Charlotte, Virginia was appointed John's guardian. Except
for the similarity of names, I have not been able to determine if the
two families are related.
It is beginning to appear that Parkinson's Disease is a hereditary
illness in my White line. If your White family lived in Kentucky in
the period 1790-1820, and there is a history of this malady in your
line, we might very well be related.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone researching White families in
Kentucky, in the period 1790-1820.
