Hi,
Can anyone tell me anything about the marriage of James E. Chandler (b.
1814, Darlington Dist., SC, son of John Chandler) to Eleanor Norwood,
daughter of Alexander McIntosh Norwood. I've been told that they were
married but no source or substantiating evidence was given. James is
shown in the 1850 Newton Co., MS census with a wife name Eleanor, but
how was the connection to Norwood made???
Peggy
Peggy:
I am a descendant of James E. Chandler and Eleanor J. Norwood. I myself have not done
a lot of research on this line but do have some information. They had 14 children.
Eleanor was his first wife, his second wife was Melissa Lawrence and they had one child.
Most of what I have is on the Chandler line. I have nothing on the Norwood line.
Eleanor died no later than 1867 and is buried inJackson Parish, LA.
Do you have any information on the Norwood line? I am happy to share what I have with
the Chandler line. Are you a descendant too? There is another person on this list that
is tracing this line but I have not contacted him but once. Maybe you will have more
luck than I did.
Look forward to hearing from you.
