Hi Laurel
This Joseph T Chandler appears in a database originally created and
maintained by Jim Reeves of the Chandler Family Association from
member-submitted lineages (but not validated by the CFA). He is shown as
the son of Joseph Chandler born 1755 place not stated. Joseph T's siblings
are shown as John born 1775, Karenhappuck (1780), Simeon (1782) and Ezekiel
(1791). Joseph 1755 is shown as the son of Elisha born 1732. The
member-submitted lineage originally showed this Elisha as a son of Joseph
born 1700 in New Kent Co, VA and died 1764 in Lunenburg Co, VA. However, we
have been advised that there is no known evidence that Joseph had a son
named Elisha, so we have unlinked these two.
Elsewhere I have seen it suggested that the name is Joseph F not T, the F
standing for Franklin. In the same place it is stated he was born 1791 in
Buncombe Co, NC, that his son William G was William Granison H born Buncombe
Co 1836, that there was another son Joseph B born 1824 in Buncombe Co, and
that Holla his wife is Holly Chandler born Greenville Co, SC 1806, daughter
of John Chandler 1756-1825, who was in turn the son of Elisha born 1732.
Obviously one of these must be wrong, else we would have had two
grandchildren marrying each other. I have only recently started trying to
resolve discrepancies like this. If you sort it out before I do, I would
certainly appreciate it if you would share the result with me.
I do stress that this information should not be relied upon without
independent corroboration, ideally from original sources, and is only
offered as a clue for your further research.
Best wishes
Dick Chandler in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada

Does anyone know anything about Joseph T. Chandler, b about 1791 in
North Carolina? He is in the 1850 Census for Yancy, NC. with William
G., Holla, and Caroline CHandler.
