Jason or Tina, can you give me any background on your Chandlers? I've been searching for several years for my husband's grandfather who was married in N.C. in 1882. His name was Irick Clay Chandler. Could he have been a brother to Benjamin? Any help on this is greatly appreciated. He seems to have dropped out of the sky!
Would anyone on this list have a connection to a William CHANDLER that was
born in GA between 1810 to 1820? He became the father of four children in
Alabama and moved on to Arkansas in either the late 1840's or early 1850's? He was
listed on the 1860 Census record of Union County, Arkansas with his family.
I have reached an impassable block with this part of my CHANDLER line.
Pam

This Tyre CHANDLER br abt 1816 in GreenvilleCo., SC, is the son of Isaac CHANDLER (abt 1783-abt 1855) and his wife Martha UNKNOWN (abt 1785-Jul 1874). Isaac and his family moved to the area that became Chattooga Co., GA abt 1835. Both Isacc and Martha died in Chattooga.
It appears that Isaac was the son of a William CHANDLER (br bef 1755-aft Sept 1816) and (I believe) his wife Lydia WHORTON (bef 1755-aft 1810). William and Lydia moved into the Old 96 District of South Carolina in the 1780s. The area became Greenville Co., SC and both William and Lydia lived and died in the Paris Mountain Area.
Looking for any information on a Joe Neal Chandler b. 25 Sep 1878 in GA.

Still looking for my father's family in Spokane Washington or southern
counties of Eastern Washington. I have been searching for over twenty years but
don't see a lead yet to my father, Joe Buster Chandler.
The "Red headed aunt he thought raised him," the inherited baldness at age 18
and possibly the crooked pinkie finger are all clues, but need some help from
Chandler families in Eastern Spokane County, WA. to come up with a lead about
knowing or hearing of an orphaned Chandler boy, 1907-1920. I think this may
be the only way I will ever find him is through people like you who know of
other Chandler families in the area and may have heard or have a bible that tells
the story of Joe.
All I know for sure is that he said he was born 09/09/1899 and lived in
Spokane (don't know if it was city or county) until he left for California in
1925. He knew nothing about his family other than he said he was an only child and
his mother died when he was about three years old, (1902) ? . Since he said
he left home at age eight, his father A.J. or John J. may have died in 1907. He
did say that his father was a merchant and had a store in Spokane.
He remembered of riding on a buckboard with his father to Yakima, (I presume
more than once for him to remember this) maybe to visit relatives ?
The family that he grew up with after the age of eight (Red headed Aunt) may
have lived possibly in Columbia County in the Starbuck area as he talked about
swimming in the Snake, Tucannon & Palouse rivers. He remembered that there
were no other children in the house where he grew up in, however being an only
child does not mean he could not have had other siblings if he was sent out to
live with older relatives. He did say that his Uncle (Chandler or ?) was in
the first WW1 and served in Europe. He said he was a migrate fruit picker as a
young man.
This is about all I know of his early years in Washington. I have tried the
Spokane County and Olympia, WA for his birth record of which there is
apparently none recorded. I have never found him on the 1900-1910 or 1920 census
records, but a lot of these are unreadable. (The Joseph B. Chandler in Pacific
County in 1920 is not my Joe.)
Joe came to San Diego County, CA. in 1925/26 where he lived until his death
in 1984. He was employed by the Railway Express Company at the Santa Fe Depot
in San Diego for 23 years. I have all his records from 1930 & up and everything
recorded says he was born in WA. including the San Diego 1930 Census, which
states his parents were from Michigan.
Thanks for any help,
Dave - Famsource(a)aol.com
