Hi cousin,
Your line seems to come from William and Annis Chandler, Roxbury, Mass 1637.
Geo Chandler's book lists a Chester S Chandler as a 7th gen descendant whose
father Phineas is 6th, Nathaniel, 5th, Isaac 4th, Henry 3rd, Thomas 2nd [I
descend from Thomas] then William.
Chester is index N0 1370 on 743.
Regards,
Ed Chandler

The LDS 1880 census CD set locates Chester and his family in Iowa where there are some additions to what is in George Chandler's book.

I looked for Earl in the 1920 census, and while I found an Earl Chandler of the right age in Iowa he was listed as b. in NH and was single and had middle initial F. I found no Earl or Russell Chandler or Chanler in the 1920 census for the entire US, but did find an E.R. Chandler who fits in some ways. He is in Hettinger, Adams, North Dakota and is listed as age 48, which does not fit what you have, but the informant may have been wrong. He has one child, named Chester, age 3 and b. in North Dakota, and E.R. and his parents are all listed as born in NY. He is a sales manager in a lumber yard. His wife is, I think, named Olga. The handwriting isn't too bad, but it is written over in part by the name on the next line. She is 36, was born in Wisconsin, and both parents were born in Germany.
I can't say this is Earl Russell, but the child named Chester and the birthplaces might be enough that you'd want to check further.

There are several 'Chandler' books around. One with some 5000 Chandlers is
available from Higginson Book Co as a reprint is "The Chandler Family, The
Descendants of William and Annis Chandler who settled in Roxbury, Mass 1637'
The data was collected and published by George Chandler in 1883. Higginson
sells the reprint for around $100. It is indexed. William and Annis came
from Hertfordshire, England.
The Chandler Family Assoc, has a book tracing descendants of John Chandler
who came to Jamestown, Va in the 1600s. There are several other Chandler
families who appear to not be related to either of the above.
Hope this helps.
Ed Chandler, 12 generations down from William.

Hey! My great grandfather was a Stephen Daniel Chandler from Ireland! Could this possibly be the same one? My family's Stephen was married three times so I'm sure he has a bunch of children all over. My grandfather, his son, was Walter Franklin Chandler. But he was just one of many of his children. Stephen came to the U.S. from Ireland as a child around the 1850's I believe. That's all I know. I know your post is pretty old but if you get my reply please reply back ! I would love to exchange info!
Thanks,
Sarah Chandler
