I'm confused! I've been researching my Chandler family and I've seen files listing Elizabeth Palmer as the wife of Robert Chandler Jr., son of Robert Chandler and Elizabeth Davis. But, I've also seen files that state categorically she is NOT the Elizabeth who married Robert Jr. Does anyone know who the Elizabeth who married Robert Jr. really is? I've also seen a wide birth range for Robert Jr. (1659-1720). Does anyone know his birth date for sure? I've seen various dates listed. Many list his b.date as 30 Apr 1659 in York County, VA., and his death as 1720 in New Kent Co. VA. I've also seen the dates listed as b: 1653 and d: 1709, b: 1654 and d: 1710. "The Chandler Book" lists Robert Jr.'s wife as Elizabeth unknown. It lists Elizabeth Palmer as the wife of Robert Chandler the 3rd. Can anyone help clear up all of the Chandler wife confusion and straighten this family out for me?

Re your posting, a Mary Ann Chandler birth was registered at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire in the September quarter of 1838 (Volume 6 Page 75). You may think this is too late to be your Mary Ann, but please bear in mind that in England the minimum age for a marriage until 1929 was 14 for a male and 12 for a female with parents or guardians consent. From that date the age went up to 16 with the same proviso. So the 1838 Mary Ann was old enough to be a bride in January 1851.
I assume that her marriage was the one registered at Leighton Buzzard in the March quarter of 1851 (Volume 6 Page 105).
With the information above, you can buy the birth and/
or marriage certificates if you want to.
Please e-mail me direct - dchandler(a)sunwave.net - if you are willing to let me know your descendancy from Mary Ann.
Regards
Dick Chandler

In researching the origins of John Chandler (born about 1661), I may have found the maiden name of his wife Margaret, While still speculative, I think her last name may have been Seaward. She would have been from Somerset County Maryland.
If anyone has any information to add to this or thinks I'm on the wrong track, let me know.

My grandfather was Onus Chandler of Alabama. He married Pearlie Adams also of Alabama. I am looking for any info dating farther back.
I am looking for any descendants of Herbert Chandler born about 1917 in most probably in AR. He was the son of Chester H Chandler and Mary "unknown". Chester and Mary are buried at Gargis Cemetery in Colbert/Lawrence Co. Herbert had two sisters, Juanita and Alice.
Chester Chandler was the half brother to William Franklin "Frank" Chandler of Muscle Shoals. My grandpa, Frank, died in 1982 buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
If anyone can direct me to anyone, even if it's snail mail, please contact me. I have sent this to all the tri-city counties since the Chandlers lived there at some point in their lives.

Hi ! Lori;
You are quite right about Midas being to old. If Midas was born in 1796,
it would be another 103 years before my father was born.
I have searched through the 1900, 1910 & 1920 census for my father and
could not find him. I believe the reason is because as he said, his mother
died abt. 1903 and he left home abt 1907. The only chance of finding Joe B.
Chandler with his family would have been on the 1900 census. It is strange
that he doesn't show on the 1910 census either, because he was very sure that
he was in Spokane in that year.
My father thought his father's name was either John J. or A.J. Chandler as
noted on Social Security and Marriage application forms.

Hi ! (Lorie) ?
My name is Dave Chandler and I have been searching for my father's family
for many years. He stated his father was from Iowa, but didn't know anything
about his family. I have looked at Sereno's family before and it seems as
though the last son Migus, (I think is Midus), had a son Floyd M. Chandler
who married Harriet B. Taylor.
This family I believe moved to Washington state, where my father was b. Joe
B. Chandler of Spokane Co. WA. 09/09/1899.
If you have any information on any Chandler's who migrated to Washington
state before 1900, I sure would like to hear back from you.
Best regards;

I have a Walker Chandler, probably born in the late 1800's somewhere in Georgia. On his son's birth certificate, it looks like Warnsboro, but as there is no such place, I'm stuck with Georgia. Perhaps, he is related. He also named his son Walker Lamar Chandler. He wound up in Tattnall and Toombs Counties, GA, before moving on to Duval County, FL.
