Hi everyone, I'm new to this List and have been hovering around for a few days, but have had no messages.
However, I will post my interests and see if anyone responds!
I have Thomas CHANDLER who married Eleanor Ann FOWLER at St. Georges, Hanover Suare in 1829.
They were both born 1810
They seem to have moved to Abergavenny, Monmouthshire soon after. He was a solicitor's clerk/ accountant. There they had William 1832, Thomas 1834, Mary and Ann 1836, John Fowler 1837, Samuel 1839, Arthur 1841 and Eleanor Jane 1842.
They moved back to London then, first to Pimlico, Westminster, where Louise 1844 and Edward 1847 were born.
After that for virtually the rest of the century the family lived across the river Thames in Battersea and Clapham. Alfred Henry born 1851.
>From the 1881 Census I have most of the next generation and some further marriages , but now I am stuck as there seem to be so many CHANDLERs in that area.
Lots more info if anyone wants it.
Associated names are MAGGS ( my ggranfather Thomas married Jane Sophia MAGGS in Bristol), COLEMAN, MEADUS, BROWN, GADSDON, EVANS, COLCHESTER, HOLBROOK, WHEELER
I would be most grateful if someone would acknowledge this message, even if not interested in this lot. It would make me feel I'm not sending this out into completely thin air.
Many thanks
Best Wishes, Joy Bedson NSW

I am researching Robert D. O. Chandler b. IN in abt. 1849 and married Samantha D. Smith in Cedar Co., Missouri 31 Mar 1872. She was b. Mar 1845 in MO. In the 1880 Census for Cedar Co., Linn Twp., there is the following family:
Owen Chandler, 32, IN
Amanda Chandler, 34, MO
Austin, 5
Walter, 7
Roberta, 2
Then in Newton Co., the 1900 Census shows the following:
Samantha D. Chandler b. Mar 1845
Oston b. Aug 1876
Leanidus b. Jun 1881
>From the SSDI I found a Martin William Chandler who died in Butte Co., CA Sep 1982. His father was Leonidas Chandler and his mother was Martha Hill. Martin was born 27 Jul 1907 in Spring City, MO, which according to one book I have, was in Oregon Co.
I would be very interested in sharing information and coordinating research on this family.

I belong to the Fannin Co. Texas list, and there is a woman, Wanda Ellis; that has been putting out lists of original marriage licenses that are being offered (unbelievably) by Bryan Co. Oklahoma for a fee. It says: If you wish to obtain one of these, please send your request along with a stamped self addressed envelope to the Bryan county Heritage Assoc., PO Box 153, Calera, Oklahoma 74730. In one of her earlier posts, she stated that they would tell you how to obtain the original. These are the Chandler's listed:
CHANDLER, D.V. m. DEATON, Mary 24 Jul 1930
CHANDLER, Dock m. HILLARD, Gennie 12 Feb 1916.
CHANDLER, Robert m. ANDIS, Rosa Belle 24 Dec 1923.
She is posting them in sections, throughout the alphabet. It is amazing to me that anyone is willing to sell the originals; if nothing else, why not have them in a Historical Society? Just wanted to let everyone know, she has posted over 20 lists so far, with more to come.
