Dear Judy,
I am smiling but not because I have the answer. I am smiling because
"William" Chandler seems to be the most elusive Chandler for so many of us.
Any one who doesn't have one, please stand up!
Kathy

Hi All,
I'm trying to sort out my William CHANDLERs and hope someone has the
answer. If this list is like the other lists, and I'm sure it is,
someone will have the information.
#1. William CHANDLER (1595 England-1641 Roxbury, MA) married Annis
BAYFORD (1603 England-1683 Roxbury, MA). This William had a son,
William, born in 1636 who had a son, William, born in 1661, I believe.
#2. William CHANDLER (1616 England-1701 Newbury, MA) married Mary
FOWLER (1617 England-1666 Newbury, MA). This William married two more
Marys (one at a time) after his first wife's death.
My questions are: Are these two William CHANDLERs connected in any way
or are they two unrelated people? If they are related then in what way?
I hope someone is reading this and smiling because the answer is so
simple and they have it. Thanks.
Regards,

Unfortunately, the dates of the Chandlers you have are too recent to be
included in George Chandler's book "The Chandler Family: Descendants of
William and Annis Chandler Who Settled in Roxbury, Mass., 1637." His book
was published in 1883.

I didn't find Comfort Gilman in the index of "Names Other Than Chandlers"
in "The Chandler Family: Descendants of William and Annis Chandler Who
Settled in Roxbury, Mass, 1637." Darn! Being that your "David" was from
Vermont, I was hopeful he would connect!
Best Wishes
Sally
Could someone also look up in this infamous Chandler genealogy---an Ollie
May Chandler, born 1900 in Texas? I don't know the name of her father but
her mother's name was Lena. Ollie May married Floyd Scott Richey on Oct.
28, 1917 in Pine Forest, Hopkins Co., TX. I am trying to find out more
about her parents and I can not locate them on the census. She may not have
been born in Texas but I don't know where else to look or who to ask. If
someone comes across her, please let me know.
Thank you,
Ms. Benay Deckard
Can someone check the Chandler genealogy for a David Chandler born circa 1779 in
Vermont. He was married to a Comfort Gilman and they lived at Walden, Caledonia
Co., VT in 1809 through 1813, then moved to Lockport, Niagara Co., NY, moving to
Genesee Co., NY by 1816. He died in Pendleton, Niagara Co., NY in 1828. David
and Comfort had the following children: John G., Samuel, Sally, Eliza B.,
William A., Angeline E., Caroline Miranda, and Palmyra W.

Hi Holly
I didn't find Eleanor Mourning Hays in the index of The Chandler Family:
Descendants of William and Annis Chandler Who Settled in Roxbury, Mass,
1637. I would conclude that your William "Buck" Chandler descended from a
different line.
Best Wishes!
Sally
Hello everyone!
I am looking for information on William "Buck" Chandler b.1818 in South
Carolina or North Carolina?? d.1849 in Louisiana. He was married to Eleanor
Mourning Hays.
Thank you,
Holly Chandler Holland

I found some information today that leads me to believe that an ancestor may
not have disappeared in California during the Gold Rush.
Sanborn Johnson
B: ABT. 1833 in Brooks, Waldo County, ME
I have a hand written note from my Grandmother, Rosa Lee Johnson Saxton,
that says: "went to California in 1849, and not heard from after he wrote
to his mother he was coming home, as he had all the gold he wanted."
I found a listing on the "Family Search.com" site listing a Sanborn Johnson
marrying JENNIE CHANDLER in 1860 in Sonoma County CA.
If anyone has any information, I would greatly appreciate it!!

William Chandler died ca 1745 in Lunenburg Co. VA. His two sons William
and Abraham were bond out. I believe that William married a TALBOT
since one son went to him and in his will Mathew TALBOT mentions his
godson Abraham CHANDLER. Also would like to find out who Abraham
married. His daughter was Jane.
