Seeking obit for Clarence Wade Chancey, Jr who married Betty Gulledge .
Seeking his parents and date of birth & if he has passed away when he died.
Also if he has any siblings.

CHANCEY - Betty Gulledge Chancey went home to be with the Lord August 12, 2000. She was
born August 20, 1924, to Preston B. and Grace Boomershine Gulledge in Charlotte, NC. She
moved to Jacksonville with her family when she was nine years old. She was a beloved wife,
mother, and grandmother, who devoted her life to the role of a loving, diligent homemaker.
As the wife of a career Army officer, she and the family moved frequently within the U.S.
and to other countries. No matter what the local customs and circumstances may have been
outside the home, the environment inside her home always reflected the steadfastness and
good order of a God Fearing, caring mother and wife. Betty gave many hours of her time
helping others. She was active in helping incoming families get settled at new duty
locations through the Army Community Services program. She was also a volunteer in the Red
Cross ' Gray Ladies' in Army hospitals and dispensaries. Since returning to
Jacksonville she had bee!
n a member of First Baptist Church where she was an active worker and leader in the '
Love' ladies Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Wade
(Trip) Chancey III. Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, C. Wade Chancey,
Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and David Lundy, Susan and Charles Talbert, of
Jacksonville, and Barbara and Jeffrey Mortberg of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Adam
Lundy, Jared Lundy, Rachel Lundy, Zachary Talbert, Hope Mortberg and Bethany Mortberg;
sister and brother-in-law, Helen and James Kesterson of Winter Haven. The family will
receive friends and relatives at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University
Blvd., So. on Monday from 6 PM until 8 PM. Services will be conducted, Tuesday at 10 AM at
the First Baptist Church, Ruth Lindsay Auditorium. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made if desired to The Building Fund of First Baptist Church
of Jacksonville or to !
