Wish I could connect my CHANCELLOR family back to Virginia and across
the ocean. All we know is that our progenitor was born in South
Carolina and ended up in Georgia which is where we are today. Been
looking into doing a DNA project to possibly narrow some
possibilities. All the info I have--well, a lot of it--is listed on my
website at
http://www.chancellorfamily.org. Any help is always
welcome!

Thanks, Ruth...
I may get my CHANCELLORs back to the boat someday, and then I'll
take you up on
your kind offer. Can I be of help to you over here? I'm
located in Virginia, about eight miles from the ocean in what used to
be Princess Anne County (named for Queen Anne before she ascended the
throne, of course), now the City of Virginia Beach.
About the unfamiliar place names... Goochland County, named after
William Gooch,
the Royal Governor of the Virginia Colony from 1727 to
1749, is about 50 miles north of Richmond, VA, the state capitol.
Franklin County (named for Benjamin Franklin) is about 200 miles SW of
Goochland by roadway, probably 150 or 160 miles as the crow flies. A
bit of Virginia geography/history for you. 8-)
Thanks, again,

Helo Carolyn,
My Chancellors come from Walton, Somerset, England. The names and
places
you mention are not familiar but if you ever have a connection to
the
English ones perhaps I could help.
Cheers Ruth
