Message Board Post:
Hi Bobbie, I am not related to the Chance family. I help on the Native American boards and
we are working on a Chance family, whom I thought at first was connected to your Chance
family. The post will probably be changed to the Chance surname board, due to not being
connected to your Chance family. I am still not convinced that the Chance family we are
working on is not connected to your family. My reason for posting is I have been trying to
find the parents for Tillman C. Chance b. 1860 married to Maggie Phillips. I have Maggie,s
info, and thought I had Tillman,s, but, I am not sure now that I do. The problem that I
am having is I find him born in different states and his parents too, on each census. The
1900 census, list him born in Arkansas,as well as his parents. The 1910, and 1930 census
states he is born in Arkansas and his parents are born in Germany. The 1920 census states
he is born in Georgia, father born Ga and mother born Indiana. This is confusing to say the
lea!
st. I did find he stated his parents died when he was very young, so that might explain
some of the differences, but, I still not convince he was born in Germany. If you have
some answers, I would be greatful for the help. Thank you Bryghtstar
