I'm still trying to tie my Purnel Oscar Chance to this line also, Purnel and
brothers Joe, and Jess were from
Faulkner Co, AR. Purnel's death certificate lists parents as John J. and
Ellen, this is the only clue as to their
parents that I have. I have obit for Joe, no parents listed, nothing on
Jess. First paper trail of Purnel Oscar Chance
is 1880 Muddy Bayou Census, listing "Oskar" Channer (should be Chance)
living in the household of Barney and
Mary Heffington, this is correct, we know Purnel was raised by the
Heffingtons., not a clue as to why. Anyone have
any info on these elusive Chance Brothers?
thanks
Carolyn

Does anyone have info on the Maryland Chance's that went to De.? or anything
on William (twin) Chance's decendents? I've found a lot on Richard (twin)
bur
not much on William's line. I'm from Purnel Chance/Starling Barnes line,
from
De. to Guilford Co. N.C to Indiana, his son Daniel moved to McLean Co. Ill.,
son Tilman to Iowa, and my line, son John, to Van Buren Co. Ark. I'm sure
they
are all connected, just can't find which line Purnel is from, Batchelder
Chance had a daug, Sarah, who married John Barnes in 1779 Md., anyone have
info on
this Barnes line? Starling Barnes father was John Barnes. Thanks for any
help
or clues to Purnel's line. Evelyn
