Dear Larry:
I don't know for certain but based on approximate year of birth this Elsie
Champlin sounds like she was Elsie, daughter of Thomas Champlin & Sarah
Morey of Hopkinton, Rhode Island. I know nothing more of Elsie herself.
Elsie was one of many children of Thomas and Sarah. Two of the youngest were
George and Bradford Champlin who walked (in 1827) to what is today, Alfred,
New York (Allegany County). They were members of the 7th Day Baptist Church.
I am not familiar with Leonardsville in Cattaraugus County but do know of
such a town in Madison County.
I would be interested in hearing more about Elsie & can supply info about
her ancestors if you think she is Thomas & Sarah's daughter.
Bob

Samuel Brand was married to an Elsie Champlin. Elsie was born I believe
1794 in Rhode Island. She was buried in Leonardsville, Cattaraugus County,
New York. Is this your relative?
Would love to share information with you if we have a match.
Thank you!
