Is there any chance Mary's name could have been CANNON?
Thanks, Jan

I have a John Champion, buut he was born About 1849, in I think April.
The
census was taken in Oct. of 1850 and he was six mo. old. But His parents
were William Frank Champion and Mary Gannoe or Gannon. They were in
Fairview
Township, Butler Co., PA. His siblings were Henry A. and William Frank
Jr.
William came to the states in 1839 from Germany. Though he was French, his
grandfather was Pierre Champion, a French Huegonaut, who escaped from
France
in the ealy 1700's. They lived in Keltze, Germany until 1750 and
then moved
to Kertchganden. Through all of this they remained French speaking. If any
of this sounds familiar I can send more.
Regards,
Rhonda
