Ruth Crawley Champion's book is out of print, and the lady died some years
ago. However, the book has been filmed by the LDS library, which is how I
found it. For $3.25 or whatever, they ordered in the film for me to look at
on their machines, and I was able to make copies of the relevant pages at 25
cents per page or whatever.
I have not found your James F/S Champion, though there are several James
Champions in the index. I didn't find any Dorworth listings in the index.
I didn't find a James born in 1815. Several Jameses born in the 1700s.
I did find a James Champion 1814-1876 who married Charity Whitson, Brownstone
IN, whose parents were Samuel Champion & Elizabeth Golden of NJ & Hamilton
COunty, Whitewater Twp, Ohio. This James born 11 Aug 1814, d 7 Jan 1876.
Several of his grandchildren were named James.
And there's a James Champion no birthdate who was at Tuckahoe and was s/o
Thomas Champion & Abigail Townsend.
James Elwood Champion no dates is s/o Robert Cameron Champion b 1826. Can't
be him. Other James Champions are way too late.
Sorry.
I am intrigued by the fact that there was/is a town where James Champion &
wife Charity Whitson lived that was named CHAMPION, INDIANA. Anybody know
where that was?
