I checked the index in Ruth Crawley Champion's Champion book and did not find
an Emeline Champion b c1832. Nor did I find a Mary Layton.
There are many Nathaniel Champion entries:
pp12, 13, 16, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 28, 32, 33, 34, 35, 43, 44, 45, 50, 51, 52,
53, 71, 87, 88, 93, 63.
Page 12 refers to Nathaniel 1690-1748 m. Mary Combe & his son Nathanel.
Page 13 refers to estate of Nathaniel in 1730. No help there.
Page 16 is again Nathaniel Champion 1690-1748 who m. Mary Combe. His son
Nathaniel was living in Camden 1771.
Page 19 is the Nathaniel & Mary Combe Champion's son Nathaniel no dob died
1813. Their children are on pp 19 & 20.
PP 22 mentions Nathaniel Champion 1775-1813 s/o Joseph Champion & Mary
Ingersoll.
P 23 follows more sons of Nathaniel & Mary Combe Champion.
P 24 gets to MY Nathaniel Champion b c1741 d c1775/77, son of John Champion &
Elizabeth Boone. He married Catherine Scull.
Page 28 has a Nathaniel Champion (unmarried) " -1864" who was s/o Thomas
Champion & Deborah Zane.
Page 32 refers to Nathaniel Champion who married Sarah Ingersoll. No dob but
dod 1813. He has a grandchild Nathaniel A. Champion.
P 33 gets back to my line, Rev. Joseph Champion who was 3rd son of Nathaniel
Champion & Catherine Scull. P 34 & 35 follow more of their sons.
PP 43-45 mention Samuel Champion s/o Nathaniel Champion & Sarah Ingersoll.
and their children.
PP 50-53 deal with Abigail Champion Molander, d/o Nathaniel Champion &
Temperence Scull and other of their children.
p 71 has Nathaniel Champion b 1841 d 4-19-1887 who married Mary Grace 10 Sepy
1863. This Nathaniel is a grandson of the Nathaniel above. The fmaily is
at Seaville.
P 87 has descendants of Nathaniel Champion & Catherine Scull. Some of
these folks may have emigrated from Egg Harbor NJ to KY and then Ohio before
1800.
P 88 has a Nathaniel Champion b 1818 of Seymour IN. He is s/o Samuel
Champion & Elizabeth Golden.

P 63 says Nathaniel A. Champion s/o Richard Champion & Sarah Marts was b 1839
d 1926, married Margaret Hogan.
I didn't find anybody that seemed to fit with your Nathaniel & Emeline.
