1900 Census lists him as William Champion, living at 430 Tamarack St.,
Laurium, MI.
Children were Jeanne b. 1870, Edward William b. 1871, William b. 1874, and
Annie b. 1878.
Son Edward William also lived in Laurium, MI a mining area of MI.
1910 Census lists the following in Edward's household: Samuel P. Martin, age
37, born in England and a Baptist Missionary, Mary, his wife, age 37,
Gladius, age 8, and Inez, age 7. Edward is listed as a machinist.
Son Edward died in Kansas City in 1955 while visiting a relative. Relative
may have been a Myrtle Harry (or possibility Kline or Cline) - a Cousin.
Myrtle is believed to have had brother's named Johnny and Milton Harry.
An IGI record exists that lists a William James Champion Christened Dec. 26,
1844 at Breage with a father as Thomas Champion and mother as Alice.
1870 Census has Mary Champion, age 40, with son Samuel, age 12, and daughter
Margaret, age 3, all born in England, living next door to William, age 25 and
Ann. Perhaps his sister-in-law. There is a Schoolcraft or Centennial
cemetery (Houghton Co.) listing a Mary Champion death December 1, 1867 and
Samuel Champion December 3, 1869 (SCH-023 and SCH-022.
