The sources cited in Ruth Crawley Champion's book, "The Champion Family: 350
Years in America," (Baltimore, Gateway Press Inc, 1984) are by chapter and
not in alphabetical order, so I don't know how often she credits H Clifford
Campion, but in skimming, I found him listed for several different items on just
two randomly-selected pages:
Friends Records: Newton, Great Egg Harbor, Cape May (H C Campion
Collection,
Cape May Historical Society, Cape May Courthouse, NJ.
H Clifford Campion, Jr., "A Genealogical Sketch of the Champion Family of
New
Jersey," (Cape May Historical Society, Cape May Courthouse, NJ.
Epitaphs in private grave yard on west bank of Great Egg Harbor River,
above
Powell's Creek. Stone standing in 1918, but gone in 1931 (H C Campion
Collection, Cape May Historical Society, Cape May Courthouse, NJ)
Marriage Records Cumberland County (H C Campion Collection
Cape May Historical Society, Cape May Courthouse, NJ)
Family Bible of Nathaniel Champion ( H C Campion Collection,
Cape May Historical Society, Cape May Courthouse)
H Clifford Campion Collection and Charts (Cape May Historical Society,
Cape May Courthouse NJ).
And I probably missed a few. Of course, now I'm wondering WHICH Nathaniel
Champion's family Bible Cape May has...
Thanks.
