Hello Everyone,
My name is Sherry Champion. I live in Alabama and I have been researching my
genealogy for six years now. I am certain that I have discovered a wonderful thing
here, it certainly beats filing through old, dusty books! Thank you for the
welcome.
In searching my family tree, I have discovered that it goes in a circle! I hope
that this doesn't cause confusion. On my paternal side, I have found that my great
great grandfather William Jessie Champion was brother to my great grandfather
Robert E. Lee Champion on my maternal side, so actually, it has cut my work short,
seeing how two lines are identical once their father is added. The lineage
beginning with their father is (unproved) James Thomas Champion, born 1844>John
Champion, born 1785>Jacob Shadrach Champion, born 1750 in Kershaw Co. SC>William
Champion, born in Surry Co. VA (believed)>Benjamin Champion, died in Halifax Co.NC
in 1769>Edward Champion, Jr. VA>Edward Champion, Sr. came to VA in 1638.
Allied Families:
[Proven] Avritt (Averitt), Sheffield, Morgan, Kelley (Kelly), Harvell (Harville),
Englett, West, Williamson, Wilkerson, Philpot
[Unproved] McKee, Martin, Green, Williams, Moore.
If you have any information on this lineage, please help!
Thank You,
Sherry Champion
