Ann,
Thanks for your response. Its possible my ggrandfather's brother, Thomas
James Champion (1841- ) was your Thomas' grandson. I don't know where the
family came from. I do know they were in Union Twp, Jefferson County PA as
of the 1850 Census. Thomas' parents were James Franklin Champion(1815-1881)
and Mariah Polly Dorwort/Dowarther/Dorworth (abt 1812-1894). Her last name
has me stumped.
Thanks again for the contact,
Ken

I have a Thomas James Champion but born in 1794 married first wife in NJ
around 11815-1825. Second wife married in New York, moved to Michigan
then
to Illinois then to Tennessee. These Champions had their kids the
same
names
and it is the dandiest sorting them out. I believe as a fellow
lister
Tompkins noted this book covers the descendants of Thomas champion
arriving
abt 1634 or so in Long Island and then the group, Quakers, moving to
New
Jersey and Philadelphia areas. See her post for some descendency lines

I am awaiting a microfiche of this book at the LDS library and then will
copy
it.
