Does anyone connect with the champion family noted below?
Can anyone help me learn who placed the Champion
tombstone in Central City, Colorado?
My Great Great Grandparents are buried there with only
the markings
"Mother", Father" and Emily".
They are:
Hugh Champion b. 07 Sept 1838 in Cornwall d. 01 Jan 1
1886 in Central City.
Lavinia Perry b. 26 Jun 1837 in Cornwall d. 07 Apr 1912
in Central City.
Their children are:
William John 1864 - 1865
Lillie 1866 - 1868
Edith - 1867 - 1877
William John - 1869 - 1906 m. Grace Ann Stephens
Lillie 1871 - 1960 m. Samuel John Hoskin (My line)
Albert 1874 - 1926
Emily 1876 - 1894
Edith 1877 - 1962
John Sherman 1880 - 1880
Mabel 1882 - 1973
I have considerable information on all the above children
and the life of Hugh and Lavinia in Central City.
I also have information on Hugh's brothers:
Thomas b. 1851 in Cornwall d. 1900 in Central City
Richard b ? d. ?
But, no knowledge of who placed the tombstone, and when.
I would love to hear from anyone familiar with these
families.
I have tombstone pictures and pictures many of those
listed above... including Hugh and Lavinia.
Thanks, Dennis Mayfield
