Is there anyone from Henderson or Vance Co., NC on this list? If so, please
e-mail me at my address below. I need some serious help locating someone for
medical history re an adopted child.
Thanks,
Joyce

Subject: [CHAMPION] Deborah Champion, Revolutionary War heroine
I've been enjoying Cokie Roberts' book, "Founding
Mothers," and was
pleasantly surprised to find that one of her war heroines is a Deborah
Champion.
Does anybody know which line of Champions she belongs to?
On page 81 of her book Cokie says:
"...In Massachusetts, Deborah Champion, at age twenty-two,
spent two days on her steed bringing information to George
Washington..."
I'd really be interested in knowing what year this lady performed her
heroic
acts and which family she belongs to.
