This is a good question. A quick review showed a passage from a book in which Deborah
Champion wrote to a friend regarding her journey from CT. to Boston. Apparently she was
the daughter of Henry Champion of CT. Look at the link below...

I've been enjoying Cokie Roberts' book, "Founding
Mothers," and was
pleasantly surprised to find that one of her war heroines is a Deborah
Champion.
Does anybody know which line of Champions she belongs to?
On page 81 of her book Cokie says:
"...In Massachusetts, Deborah Champion, at age twenty-two,
spent two days on her steed bringing information to George
Washington..."
I'd really be interested in knowing what year this lady performed her heroic
acts and which family she belongs to.
