Ah, I see! Andrew Hunter Champion 1820-1887 m. Maria Yoxheimer. Children:
Mary Jane, Emma, Amelia, Rose, Frank, Annie, William J., Minnie Etta.
You're right--he's another son of Joseph Champion & Elizabeth Adams of
Tuckahoe NJ.
Joseph Champion, the father, is s/o Thomas Champion & Elizabeth Hunter, was b
11 mar 1788/89 at Tuckahoe NJ, died 1850/51, buried in Old Burial Grounds,
Lycoming Co. PA. Elizabeth Adams, Joseph's wife, is d/o Mark Adams and
?Cameron?, born 19 Mar 1799 at Tuckahoe NJ, died 10 Apr 1883, buried at
Warrensville, PA.
Joseph's lineage, per Ruth Crawley Champion's book, is (1) Thomas (2) John,
(3) Thomas, (4) Elias, (5) Thomas.
If you can find a copy of this book on film, it is worth making copies, since
the book is out of print. Also there's a fair amount of information
available through the Atlantic County Historical Society on these Tuckahoe
Champions, whose emigrant ancestor, THOMAS CHAMPION OF ASHFORD, KENT, ENGLAND
first settled in the Long Island, Hempstead, NY area in 1634, after sailing
on the vessel Hercules of Sandwich.
Ruth Crawley Champion wasn't able to find a connection between this Thomas
Champion of Ashford, Kent, and the line of Henry Champion, an Englishman who
settled in Saybrook CT c1647, moving to Lyme CT in 1670; nor with Richard
Champion, the 19-year-old who sailed from England in 1634 to the James River
in VA.
Let me know if you want me to look up other things--I just think there's so
much about your own early Champions in this particular book you'll want to
get hold of a copy yourself.
