My Champion line goes as follows:
1) Henry married Sarah
2) The son of Henry and Sarah, Henry married Susanna De Wolf
3) The son of Henry and Susanna, Joshua married Mary Mott
4) The son of Joshua and Mary, Joshua married Elisheba Beckwith
4) The son of Joshua and Mary , Ezra married Mary Bumpas
5) The son of Joshua and Elisheba, Joel, married Thankful Champion, daughter
of Joshua and Mary (Bumpas) Champion
6) The son of Joshua and Thankful, Ezra, married Polly Northrup
7) The son of Ezra and Polly, Joel, married first, Anna Louisa Robinson
7) The daughter of Ezra and Polly, Abigail, married Benjamin Avery
8) The son of Joel and Anna Louisa, Jerome Bonaparte, married Isabel Hannah
Avery
his first cousin, the daughter of Benjamin and Abigail (Champion) Avery
9) the daughter of Jerome B. and Isabel H. Champion, Mary Isabel, married
George Edward Ballard. Their daughter, Elizabeth Leone Ballard, was my
mother.
The first four generations lived in Connecticut. Joel and Thankful
(Champion) Champion came to New York after the Rev. War and settled in
Columbia county. Ezra of the 6th generation, lived in Knox, Albany County,
NY. Joel of the 7th generation removed to Ohio, while his son, Jerome, moved
to Wisconsin in the 1850's. Mary Isabel (Mollie) Champion moved with her
new husband to North Dakota at the turn of the century.
