While I'm sure your Sarah Champion belongs to our NJ Champions, there are
many Sarahs listed, often without dates, and the index does not contain any
Boice or Boyce. On page 22 I found several dateless Sarahs born to
children of Joseph Champion and Mary Ingersoll, whose son John Champion
91756-1828) had a daughter named Sarah (dateless, alas); and John's brother
Nathaniel (1775-1813) had a daughter named Sarah (also dateless). These
cousins seem the most likely.
Probably we can rule out dateless Sarah Champion d/o Nathaniel Champion &
Sarah Ingersoll because she was probably born c1811 and is therefore too late
besides having married Daniel Husted.
And we can rule out Sarah Champion 1781-1860 because she has dates and
because she married Elias Gifford.
There are other Sarahs but the pages they appear on probably makes them too
early or too late.
Suggested places to look: it might be worth contacting the Atlantic County
Historical Society because they have many Champion genealogies already done.
I'd suggest sending a contribution if you want them to find her, or you
might want to join. I think it's about $10 yearly. Anyway, their address
is POB 301, Somers Point NJ 08244. Phone number in 1997 was 609-927-2212.
Their library & museum is at 907 Shore Road, Somers Point, NJ and in 1997
they were open 10 to 3:30, Wednesday thru Saturday.
I think you might also find a fair amount on the microfiches at an LDS family
history library under NEW JERSEY. That's how I found my William Champion &
Experience Ingersoll's marriage record.
Happy hunting. I'll be interested to hear when you find the connection.
