I have a copy of Trowbridge's Champion Genealogy, and on p. 31 I found the
following:
Thomas Champion, the son of Henry the settler, born April 1656, in Saybrook,
CT, died 5 April 1705, in Lyme, CT; married in Lyme 23 August 1882, Hannah
Brockway, daughter of Wolston and Hannah (Briggs) Brockway. She was born 15
September 1564 in Lyme and died 2 March 1750 in Lyme. After Thomas' death,
she married John Wade of Lyme, as his second wife.
My maternal grandmother was born a Champion; I have multiple lines from
Henry, the settler, through Thomas' brother, Henry. The Brockways were a
prominent early family in Lyme.
