Thanks for letting me know.

No, the Champions in Ruth Crawley Champion's book, THE CHAMPION FAMILY: 350
YEARS IN AMERICA are the ones originally from Long Island and New Jersey.
These folks' descendants did move west, and some of them may have gone
south, but the ones she follows mostly went west to Pennsylvania, Ohio,
Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, etc.
Page 98 of the book mentions Andrew Jackson Champion and his family:
"ADAMS TOWNSHIP, MORGAN COUNTY, [INDIANA]...
"Thomas Champion and Martha Moore Champion moved from their home
in Hamilton County, Ohio, Delhi Twp., to Morgan County, Indiana, Adams
Twp., with their four children: Mary, Robert E., Elizabeth, and John
M.
Children born in Indiana were: Emiline, William Lafayette, and Andrew
Jackson. Thomas bought a farm in Adams Twp in 1837 and was one of
the organizers of the Methodist class which met in 1840 west of Mill
Creek.
..."
On page 101, Andrew Jackson Champion's name appears with some information
about the family and the fact that Sarah Ellen McCollum's father, John
McCollum
bought the Thomas Champion farm. She later married William Lafayette
Champion, a brother of Andrew Jackson Champion.
Children listed for Thomas Champion [Thomas1, John2, Thomas3, John4,
Nathaniel5, Thomas6] b c1804 d 1845, and Martha Moore b c1804 in Virginia:
Mary Champion b 1828 Ohio.
Sarah J Champion b 1829 Ohio, d 1850, bur. Patrick Cem. north of
Eminence IN.
Robert E Champion b 1830 Ohio.
Elizabeth Champion b 1832 Ohio.
John M. Champion b 1834 Ohio, m. Peggy Cosner; ch: Charles.
Emaline Champion b 1838 Indiana. ch: Melia b 1862.
William Lafayette Champion 1842-1931 m. Sarah Ellen McCollum;
ch: Samuel Otto, John Homer, Effie May, Lillian Mae, George William.
Andrew Jackson Champion b 1844, Indiana.
"After the death of Thomas Champion, the farm (80 acres) was sold at public
auction and family members listed as heirs were Martha, Sarah J., Emaline,
Lafayette, and Jackson Champion..."
Hope this helps. If you tie into this line, you're cousins of mine. We
branch off at Nathaniel (generation 5).

Yes, I'd like to know also.

I honestly don't know. Am awaiting my microfiche. Another Champion
researcher has given me information from this book. I do know it follows the
descendants of Thomas Champion arriving Long Island, NY around 1634 on the
Hercules from England. It covers all his branches. These are my branches
that wound up in Tenn.
The LDS library has several different large volume books on differentlines of
the Champion Family. Ann
Are there North Carolina Champions in this book?

I have Champions in Blount and Knox county. Came across a reference to
Eugenia Champion in the area--but don't believe she is mine. My champions
came from NJ to NY to Mich. to Ill to TN. The descended from Thomas Champion
in the book Champion Trails in America. One of the sons in TN did have a
business in Selma or thereabouts. Don't know if he was married or had
children. There seems to be no evidence of this. My family was in TN in the
1860-19013 period. The kids names of Thomas Emmett Champion were Hate, Frank
Byron, Thomas Charles, that I know of.

The book is out of print and not available. Ruth Crawley is the editor and
she has died. There has been no family permission to reprint. I order the
book fromthe Family History Center and then just copied every page. Another
champion lister gave me this good advice. Ann
I am gonna assume, due to all the responses that I have the nameof the town wrong. I can't find it on the map and so I am sure this is the case. Thanks so much for your help. Barbie

Do you have verification of the marriage of William Yancy Champion and Mary
Jane Morgan? He was my grandfather by his third wife Mary Ann McIntyre. I
beleive Mary Jane was his first wife. Am I correct?
