Hello Listers,
It has been quite a while since there have been any "letters to the list" . We
have at least 22 listmembers- isn't anyone interested in sharing their research,
questions, brickwalls?
I have been busy filling in some historical details to my "family story" and
wonder has anyone
else come across the past time of "sabot" where the (evidently) men of the
family had a competition as to who could kick the highest - (in the house yet!) This was
very popular at gatherings of my family, a tidbit of French rural culture. I think the
details of daily life are just as important as the dates of births, deaths, and marriages
(not necessarily in that order) and probably more interesting to read.
Still searching for the parents of Prospere Champagne b. 1849 in Quebec Married to
Delphine Corbeil b1856 Quebec. Very likely they are both from St. Joseph, Rimouski area of
Quebec.
Anyone on the list have something to share?
