Hi,
I have information and photocopies of documents about Felix Shampine (Champagne?), born
1843 c in Trois Rivieres (Three Rivers), Quebec. In 1864 Felix enlisted in the U.S. Army,
in Brasher, St. Lawrence County. A year later he was discharged. He served Union side in
the Civil War. The 1880 Bombay (NY) census shows him living with wife Mary A.,
step-daughter Mary Ann (age 11), and Margaret Melren (age 78, relationship unknown). The
1910 census (Brasher) shows Felix and wife Mary, and states they were married 1878 (second
marriages for both). Felix died in Cornwall, Ontario on 19 April, 1914 - I have the death
record, filled out by his son-in-law, George Bailey. Parents are listed as unknown.
I am searching for information about Felix Shampine so that I may find more information
about Mary A., his wife. She is my great-great grandmother. Marriage details to Mary A.
would be great! Especially if it contains her maiden name!!! :)
Please contact me by email if you would like copies of these records, or have information
about Felix for me.
Lydia
