There are probably better people out there to answer about Mary
Champe, but this is what my Notes show:
Jackie Ginn, bluelaker4(a)aol.com, gives Mary Champes father as William,
her mother as Elizabeth. Date of birth as about 1710. The father
appears to be William Champe of Neabsco Creek, Prince William Co., VA,
reportedly the uncle of Col. John Champe of Lamb's Creek, King George
Co., VA.. We may be dealing with two Willian Champes or one with what
looks like three wives: Elizabeth (1710); Jane (1717), and Catherine
(1743-47). If William of Neabsco Creek was her father, what happened
to all the land he accumulated? Were there any brothers?
1733: A Mary Champe, daughter of William Champe, had lands on Neabsco
Creek, originally Stafford, later Prince William Co., VA married
William Corum. Date estimated by Patricia Murray, pcmurray(a)umich.edu.
If she married in 1733, I would estimate DOB as about 1715.
1764: Mary (Champe) Corum, "a poor woman," began receiving "stripes."

1774: Dec. 10. Death of Mary Champe Corum; she was apparently
abandoned by her sons. A Samuel Williams received 11 pounds 10
shillings for burying a Mary Champ Corum, Prince William Co., VA.

Corum family had moved to Faquier Co., VA. Three sons fought in
Revolutionary War, found as follows after the war:
Richard - Faquier Co., VA, 1790-94;
William Jr. - Warren Co., GA;
Robert - Caswell Co., NC. Source: Patricia Murray
