I have not did any work on my Chambliss/ess family for
quite sometime. I know nothing more than what I have
posted on the Chambliss message board. I have been
ill and no longer do any searching for my family. I
had hit a brick wall. Thanks for the information,
Julia

Julia,
Have you found the grave of Peter Corbin Chambliss?
Although he lived on his plantation in Jefferson
County Mississippi (and had EXTENSIVE land holdings
in Mississippi) at the time of his death, he is
buried in Georgia. Also, there is a court case in
1813 in SC Archives about the attempt of his uncle
(Peter Corbin) to keep Peter Corbin Chambliss and
his brother John S. Chambliss and their sister
Elizabeth Chambliss from inheriting any of their
grandparent's estate.
