D'Ann's post about viruses was very good. Too many people assume that any
release about viruses is accurate.
I would make one exception.

The following comment applies more to Internet than to Email. Especially
from
ancestry.com, the normal way of downloading GEDCOMs is via a
self-loading UNZIP file that is typed as an EXE file. But, of course, this
is something you initiate yourself from a reliable site.
It is also possible to safely receive files with this method via Email
Attachments. but only with persons that you know you can trust and when you
know what is in the files.
