From much chat with Theron Smith this morning, a couple of books are
out=20
which you people related to James Chamblee (children born in Wake Co
migrate=
d=20
to Bloun Co AL) and want to establish provenance might be interested in.

1. "Massey Genealogy 2000" Price is $45.00 postpaid; hard bound; 232 pages.=20
Order from the author:
William W. Massey Jr.
7703 Deerwood Pointe
Jacksonville. FL 32256.
Says Theron:
"Those of you who are from the Prince George Co., VA MASSEYs - Hezekiah,
Joseph, and Richard - wll be interested in a new Massey Book just
published:
MASSEY GENERALOGY 2000 by William W. Massey. This=A0 is an update on=A0 Judg=
e
Frank Massey's MASSEY ADDENDUM=A0 (But of Chapter XIX=A0 O N L Y=A0=A0 -=A0=20=
"Lines
from John Massey of Shirley Hundred, 1636 Immigrant"). The sub-title of the
book=A0 is "Richard Massey of Cheshire, England, 1684, Charles City County,
VA, the First Colinial Familt\y ..."
The book is advertized on p. 18 of the current GENEALOGICAL HELPER. I can
provide an address and cost via private Email to anyone interested.=20
I especially appreciated the fact that it points out in definite terms that
Hezekiah, Joseph, and=A0 Richard could NOT be from the 1636 immigrant - I've
been "preaching"=A0 this position for many years but Mr. Massey arrived at
the same conclusion independently of me.
He also gives an alternative descent=A0 from the 1st Hamon de Mascy that is
very interesting - I'm still deciding whether it has any "holes: - in any
event, it's better documented that the other descents from Hamon floating
around on the Internet.=A0 There are also numerous tabulated descents from
royalty for Richard of Charlles City Co., VA, which will be be interesting
to review and critique for many of us - 6 descents from Edward III are
shown.=20
Also, of interest to those from Richard Massey of Burton Creek in NW Wake
Co., NC, whom some have tried unsuccesfully to graft onto William and
Judith Massey of Wake/Frankin Co., NC,=A0 is a fresh and provocative approac=
h
to showing that this Richard may, after all [as Judge Massey believed]=A0 be
from Richard, son of Hezekiah. Judge Massey, as well as several list
subscribers, including Fount Armstrong,=A0 are from Richard Massey of Burton
Creek."
Theron told me privately that Paul C. Reed & Helen Leary researched this=20
book. Sooooooo, you know it is REALLY accurate. They left our Chloe Massey=20
(marr James Chamblee as his first wife) as dau of Richard Massey of Franklin=
=20
Co, but they didn't have the records Jack and I found apparently. Still, it=20
will be very interesting to read, esp if Leary was involved in the research.
2. --Richard and Anne Pettipool Massey by William Massey (Genealogy, 1994,=20
Florida)=A0=A0=A0 I saw this on the Tennessee Valley Publications website. P=
erhaps=20
it's the same author as No. 1.
For those that don't know many years ago a Judge Massey printed 3 or so book=
s=20
about the Massey genealogies. Much speculation a
