"HALLIE WEEMS NEIGHBORS
Fort Worth -- Hallie Weems Neighbors, 96, a homemaker and Christian
lady, died Sunday, February 7, 1999, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 AM Wednesday at the Memorial Chapel in the First United
Methodist Church of Fort Worth, the Rev. Dr. William M. Longsworth,
officiating. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: Mrs.
Neighbors will lie in state at Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Home,
where the family will be receiving from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday.
Memorial: Should you desire donations may be made in Mrs. Neighbors'
memory to the Presbyterian Night Shelter or a charity of choice.
A native of Quinlan, Hallie Weems Neighbors was the daughter of Henry W.
and Margaret Menasco Weems. She was a graduate of Texas State College
for Women, now T.W.U. in Denton. Hallie married Edwin Ray Neighbors on
September19, 1922. Mr. Neighbors died in 1993. She was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Neighbors was a member
of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Work, the National Society
of Magna Charta Dames, the Mary Isham Keith Chapter of the National
Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Tarrant County
Pharmaceutical Auxiliary.
Survivors: Daughter, June Neighbors Morton McAllister and her husband,
Tom, of Alto, New Mexico; son, Cara "Bud" Neighbors and his wife Pat of
Santa Maria, California; grandchildren, Theodore Field Morton, III,
Edwin Neighbors Morton, Julia Cara Morton Alston, Edwin Brett Neighbors,
and Collin Hunt Neighbors and his wife, Candace; great-granddaughter,
Grace Leigh Neighbors; several nieces and nephews; and cousin, Gill Bond
of Ryan, Oklahoma."
NOTE: Mrs. Neighbors shared some of her genealogy with Chamlee/Chamblee
researchers: she was a descendant of Lucinda Wayne, b 1859 d 1900 Hunt
County, TX. Lucinda was the daughter of Lucinda Chamlee and William
Wayne, who married in 1833. Lucinda Chamlee was a daughter of William
Chamlee (b 1780 VA d 1866 GA) and Dorcas (Sego) Chamlee. . .
