Alexander S. G. Williams to Alley Beavers Chamblee (IGI)
What is the documentation for this marriage? Have you seen the bond, or is
this someone's entry in their database. Just wondering why she was listed
as Alley Beavers Chamblee. Smacks a little of a double last name, a la
widow. On the 1860 census in Itawamba, she is listed as "Alcey C. B."
Freeman was born in 1810, and this Alley/Alcy was born ca 1822.
Could she have been born a Beavers then married a Chamblee?
here are the listings for 1860 and 1870
They are listed between Freeman and John on the 1860 census.
1911-1911 Chamblee, Hiram 33 Ala (John's son)
1912-1912 Chamblee, John 65 NC
1913-1913 Williams, Alexander S. Ala
1914-1914 Chamblee, F (Freeman - and P.S. D'Ann, here he's married to
Serena, isn't that Carilda's mom?)
1915-1915 Lynn, Ann E. 24 NC (Freeman's daughter)
1916-1916 Wiginton, Floid (Floyd) 34 Ala (Boaz line)
married to C. F. C. D. 24 NC
1870 census, beside Benjamin Chamblee, son of John
213 213 Chamble, Benjamin 25
in this household is Winniford 68 NC (Benjamin's mother)
and Clifton, William 17 MS (I think this is Joel Clifton & Charlotte's
son, who would be John's grandson, and Benjamin's nephew by his older
sister Charlotte)

Alcy 48 NC
215 215 Webb, William

---
While I was looking around, I saw this marriage listed.
WILLIAMS, Nancy C. to CHAMBLESS Hardy 24 Jun 1840 Itawamba
This is VERY early for Itawamba.
(In 1860 Aley was 38 years old and born in NC)
Children:
Hannah M. 18 yrs, born AL
James A.
Winniford M.
Sarah E.
John
Mary A.
Hiram
They lived next door to Freeman Chamblee in the 1860 census. "Hiram" and
"Winniford" are Jarred Chamblee line names.
The "Beavers" thing was a new discovery tonight. So......Bobbe or anyone,
dare
to venture a guess? Freeman's daughter? Where does the
"Beavers" come from?
Some Beavers married into the Sandlin/Chamblee lines in Blount Co, but these
Chamblees are from the Robert/James line instead of the Robert/Jarred line.
