There has been some chat over the years about the name, CHOMONDELEY,
pronounced "Shumbley" . There is a very LARGE and rare book about this family
and the genealogy in our local library. As far as my research has taken me, I
find no direct connection to these people in old records in the British Isles
or records on this side of the ocean. About 4 years ago I was contacted by
some intense Chomondeley researchers and they didn't have any connections
whatsoever with anyone in very early Virginia in the area we have been
searching. However, one must always be open-minded.
