As Ann say's- will miracles never cease- I am finally on line at
JFC1784(a)aol.com. I know Truett, George, Anne, DAnn, and many others have been
waiting patiently for this.
I will begin by saying thanks to all of you who have put your
time/$$$/patience to the test in developing the Chamblee Network and inputting
all of the family data into the database. I would also like to apologize for
taking so long to get on line, but due to certain circumstances beyond my
control- (work- I'm an architect, business travel -250,000 miles a year,
family issues, etc...) my time to research as been minimal at best. I know
many of you experience similar situations.
Due to circumstances I can now control, I have time to get back to one of the
tasks that I enjoy most- Chamblee Family History. One of our Chamblee family
cousins, Allen Lambert (unfortunately to us all, now deceased at the age of 41
years) and I have been working on the Alabama Chamblee lines for over ten
years. We started out primarily working the lines of two brothers- Isham and
Robert C. Chamblee of Blount County, Alabama, sons of James B. and "Chloe"
Massey Chamblee of Wake County, NC. However, we have picked up a lot of
additional Chamblee and related family lines in our quest.
Our goal was always to publish this data and with my time more available, it
should go to press this year. Allen's untimely death earlier this year shocked
us all and slowed progress. His wife, Robin, is still trying to sort through
his personal records and find the family information, photos, etc.. he was
working on for the Book for me. She has been in the process of moving closer
to her parents so things are a bit hectic for her.
My direct line is: Robert (of Wake County, NC); James B.; Isham (moved with
his older brother Robert C. from Wake Co., NC to Blount Co., Al. ca. 1817);
Newton Jasper; Charles Edmond; Carl Chalmers; Jack Frank, Sr. and to me, Jack
Frank Chamblee, Jr.
Other lines I am related to on my Chamblee side include: Shelton; Alldredge;
Arnold; Hart; Leach; Maudlin; Proctor; Pace; Chaney; Blackmon; and Whitaker-
all in Alabama ca. 1820 to present. Most of these families are from North
Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. I have not spent much time on any of the
collateral lines as we have tried to concentrate on the direct line from
Robert of Wake Co., NC to the Blount Co., Al. Robert and Isham lines.
I look forward to corresponding with you all and will keep you updated on the
progress of the Alabama Book. Any of you that has sent me data in the past,
but need to update it for changes and additions, please e-mail me at
JFC1784(a)aol.com.
Thanks again cousins,
Jack
