Thanks for the update. I, too, check out the name. There is currently a
baseball player ( for what team I don't know) with the ChamBlee name, and I
wondered about him. A question-- Lately I have been trying to check out my
grandmother's line and have been unsuccessful in pinning any firm information
down. She was Linda Savilla Willson, married Andrew Bartow Bell. Her parents
were William Nehemiah Willson and Mary Jane James. The James are from
Forsyth and have some documentation. William Nehemiah's father was Leroy
Willson, a blacksmith and his mother was Mourning Cobb. I have reason to
believe that she was the daughter of William Cobb and Mourning Garrison, but
no firm leads. Have you ever run into anything about these folks? Should I
write to the probate ct. in Cherokee first and check for wills? What else?
When I lived in New England 20 years ago I was near the New England
Genealogical Library and the census bureau and had access to in hand
information. Now I am in the boonies and need to do stuff like this a
different way. Thanks for your advice. I am still waiting for my book. I
ordered it a couple of weeks ago, and can't wait until it gets here. Linda
