Fighting Itawambians === 1946
Cpl. James C. Chamblee*, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Chamblee, entered service
on July 31, 1942; took his basic Infantry training at Camp Forrest,
Tennessee, other training at Camp Phillips, Kansas. He sailed on July 01,
1944 to England. He was killed in action, while he was fighting with Company
G, 318th Infantry Regt., 80th Division in France. He was awarded the Purple
Heart.

Fighting Itawambians === 1946
Pvt. Marcus E. Chamblee*, son of Mr. & Mrs. Charlie N. Chamblee, entered
service on May 12, 1943; took his basic training at Camp Shelby; sailed via.
Fort Meade, Md. on November 01, 1943 to North Africa, from there to Italy;
encountered heavy enemy fire while establishing a bridgehead on the Rapido
River and failed to return; reported missing in action on January 21, 1944
This should be Ewing Chamblee, s/o Charles Newton Chamblee, Hiram Chamblee,
Freeman Chamblee etc.
