Thanks Anne for the info on the 1850 census. It's my opinion that the first
entry that was marked out was information that was given by a second party,
maybe a neighbor. The second entry is most likely correct. The birth date
of George W. is March 16, 1845. That would make him 4 if the census taker
was there before his birthday. Jarrett's age would also be correct in the
second entry.
I suppose my next step is to try to find the marriage license between Jarrett
and Elizabeth C. I'm betting that they were married in or near Cherokee
County, GA.
Does anyone have a copy of the death certificates for Enoch or Jarrett,
children of Jarrett? Wondering if they would have any additional info on
their mother. These two are the only ones that should have a death
certificate as they died in the 1930's. I know that George Washington does
not have a death cert available as he died before 1914, the year Arkansas
started keeping records.
