This is old news, but I thought I'd pass it along anyway. Mary Helen
Strickland Buffaloe was a Chamblee descendant from the Rosinburg area of Wake
County, North Carolina. She was interested in family history and enjoyed
talking about and sharing her genealogy with others. She wrote some articles
on her Chamblee and Strickland lines that are in "The Heritage of Wake
County," published in 1983 by the Wake County Genealogy Society. Her
Chamblee line is as follows:

on March 15, 2000:
"MARY HELEN BUFFALOE
"NOV. 11, 1925 - MARCH 13, 2000
"GARNER - Mary Helen Strickland Buffaloe, 74, of 1111 Vandora Springs Road, a
retired secretary with the Dept. of Continuing Education at NC State
University, died Monday. The retired owner of Buffaloe's Mobile Acres in
Garner, she was one of the founders of Lawndale Manor Assisted Living Center
in Garner.
"She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred E. Buffaloe, Sr. on Sept. 24,
1996.
"Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial,
Montlawn Memorial Park.
"Surviving: daughter, Mary Kaye Whaley and her husband, Ron Whaley of Garner;
son, Fred Buffaloe and his wife, Bobbie Buffaloe of Garner; grandchildren,
Rod Whaley and his wife, Cheryl Whaley, Bill Whaley, Michael Buffaloe and
Allison Buffaloe, all of Garner; great-grandchild, Celeste Whaley; sister,
Bernice Strickland O'Neal of Zebulon; special friends, Julian and Mary Ellen
Boyce.
"The family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner 7-9 p.m. today, and
other times at the home of Fred and Bobbie Buffaloe, 723 Hillandale Lane,
Garner."
