Thank you for your various ideas and you valuable input from the last note
re. the upcoming space restrictions at
MyFamily.com. Much appreciated. Good
insights!
I was alerted by a cousin that some tech support people at
MyFamly.com are
actually quoting prices for the upcoming change in FREE space at
MyFamily.com. Thus, I telephoned them again this morning (having done so last
week) and they indicated there were still unsure what the upcoming changes
will be. It is thought that for 100 mgs of space the charge might be $20.00
or so. An announement is expected about March 3rd, they think they will send
e-mail to all administrators with the definitive price and size decisions.
By the way, with this price we get advertisement-free website space. Horrah.
Thus, it's all affordable and everything is ok, fF we remember a few things:
1. Website gets eaten up fast with large files. Please forward all photos to
me so I can resize them for the website. I will keep the original photo on my
own computer for those who want to print the original size (per request from
my last missive). We are at 45 MGS and 100 MGS comes very very quickly with
large graphics.
I keep copies of all ancestral photos in an archival book as a general
repository for all descendents in the future.
2. I will janitorize the site periodically, deleting old news items, tweaking
etc. Feel free to add news, research, etc. Let's keep photos on the site only
of those born before 1900. This will keep the space under 100 mgs (I hope).
3. I will move some items over to the main page such as the memorial to past
researchers, etc., resize alot of photos with the generous offer of Davis
Chamblee to help me (making him a temporary administrator).
A few of you have volunteered to help here and there, much appreciated and I
will take you up on it! I have enjoyed seeing the photos of yourself in the
personal information part of
Myfamily.com! MORE!
SECOND ITEM:
I have recently obtained the CD of a Chamblee cousin jazz pianist, Frank
DuVall. "Wishing Well" is performed by the Frank Duvall Jazz Trio. What a
talent! This is the brother of Bobbe Duvall, our Chamblee List manager and
also a site administrator.
Frank's other CD is out and you can read all about both of them at:
http://www.frankduvalljazztrio.com/
Frank is on the mainstage at the Charleston Palace Hotel (Charleston Grill).
If you live there, go see him!
Please let me know of other such talent and happenings among all you cousins.
It's wonderful to see what you are about and what talents you have. We'll
plug you ever chance we get.
Anne Chamlee alerted me that Brandel Chamblee played here in L.A. and won a
golf tournament, but I was oblvious to it. I had his cousin contact me last
year for info and may be on this list. His line is lost and difficult to
unravel.
Thank for all you do!
